Even though crushing and screening have become Farrell's core activity, plant hire operations also remain central to our interests, but remain in applications largely in association with our crushing operations. A number of specialist niches are also served by this wing, including the construction of rock armour to prevent coastal erosion.
Recent projects of this nature include Inch in West Kerry, where 300,000 tonnes of rock were installed by a Cat 345 and 330DL. Other excavators concentrated in the plant hire wing include a variety of Komatsu units ranging from 20 to 30 tonnes, while ADTs are restricted to Volvo A25s and a recent Bell B40D
